Interview with English Storyteller
On our 37th episode of Enolončnica, aired on the 25th, we had the pleasure of hosting Samuel Baldwin, a brilliant storyteller from England.
Sam first visited Slovenia in 2007 and immediately fell in love with its breathtaking natural beauty. Alongside his brother, he purchased a 300-year-old mountain cabin in the Koroška region. Over the next decade, he frequently traveled to Slovenia to renovate the cabin, gradually turning it into a cherished retreat. In 2017, following a significant life change, he decided to move to Slovenia permanently, beginning a new chapter in the cabin he had lovingly restored.
From 2017 to 2022, Sam lived in Ljubljana, where he met his Austrian partner during a Slovenian language course. In 2023, the couple relocated to Austria. Interestingly, Sam now lives even closer to his beloved mountain cabin than he did while residing in Ljubljana. His deep connection to Slovenia remains strong, and he continues to visit frequently, drawn by its enduring charm.
Last summer, Sam published a book titled Dormice & Moonshine: Falling for Slovenia, in which he beautifully narrates his experiences and love for the country. The book is currently being translated by a Slovenian publisher and is expected to be released later this year.
We look forward to seeing you on February 15th, the third Saturday of the month! Stay tuned and keep following us.
