they just serve food (music) & interact with the audience

PRODUCERS ARE CHEFS

they cook, combine and present all the ingredients together to make a meal (the perfect song)

MUSICIANS ARE FARMERS

musicians and vocalists grow the food (aka play instruments or sing) but they don't put it together into a meal

Different artists are different combos of the above. The next time you cheer for your favorite "artist" you should know who actually deserves credit. Most "DJs" pretend to be something they are not. Don't be confused. Give credit where it's due.
