Interview with Egyptian Technology Architect
On our 39th episode of Enolončnica, aired on March 15, 2025, we welcomed Moustafa Elsayed from Egypt as our guest. Moustafa was born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt, and his career had taken him to various countries before he eventually moved to Slovenia.
His journey to Slovenia had an interesting twist! After completing a Master’s degree in Architecture in Germany in 2019, he had received a job offer from Slovenia. At first, he didn’t even know where Slovenia was—he even thought it might be a district in Germany! Later, he discovered that it is often called the "Garden of Europe", and he was happy that his path led him here.
Although he had not studied in Slovenia, he had received a scholarship in Computer Science from an online university in the USA and successfully completed his studies. At the time of our conversation, he had been working as a Technologist Architect at KobiLabs, where he combined his architecture background with strong programming skills to develop innovative software solutions for the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
His career in architecture had also allowed him to live in multiple countries. Before coming to Slovenia, he had worked in Dubai, spent one and a half years in Oman, lived for a year in Germany, and then arrived in Slovenia, where he had been enjoying a new chapter in his life.
Since moving to Slovenia, Moustafa has discovered many new sports, such as skiing, ice skating, sledding, and cycling. However, his biggest passion had been cycling and hiking in Slovenia’s breathtaking forests.
During the episode, we had a great conversation with Moustafa about his experiences in Slovenia, what it had been like to live in different cultures, and his career journey. We also listened to two songs from his personal playlist, which added a unique touch to the show.
