1)Benin has expelled the European Union’s ambassador over political interference, a statement from the president’s office 

says.The statement said that while the country had nothing against the EU, Ambassador Oliver Nette was “harmful”.

"He has interfered too much in domestic affairs," "He constantly calls on civil society to protest against the government."

2)Flash Floods and Landslides after days of heavy rain deplaces hungred of families in Kenya.

More heavy downpours expected in parts of north-east Africa where severe flooding and landslides have already caused deaths 

and major destruction.Officials say villages have been cut off by flooded roads, slowing down the delivery of aid.

The majority of houses in the area have sunken and all personal belongings have been swept away. Families in the area are 

finding shelter in local schools.

3)Qatar has “totally rejected false accusations” it was involved in a plot to assassinate top Eritrean government figures.

On Thursday, Eritrea accused Qatar of “subversion” including supporting opposition groups against the government.

Qatar's foreign ministry said it “has nothing to do with any factions or groups in Eritrea”.

The statement also noted Qatar’s protest following similar accusation by Eritrea in April.

It said that “this raises suspicion about the real intentions and the parties behind this unrealistic statement".

Eritrea had long-standing close relations with Qatar until the rivalry among among Gulf states emerged in 2017.

Eritrea has since shifted allegiance towards the Saudi-UAE alliance in the conflict in Yemen.

To help the war efforts of the Saudi-led coalition, Eritrea is hosting a UAE military base outside the port city of Assab.
