There will be a winner! - But it won't be the bisexual character, doomed to affirm either Straightness™ or Gayness™ when the monogamous romance contest ends. Maybe that's why some of our guests' favourite media depictions of bisexuality are rooted in stories of failiure. 

But "in a world where success is counted in relationship to profit or relayed through heteronormative marriage, failure is not a bad place to start," Halberstam teaches us. To fail at oppressive and violent systems is also to loosen their grip, to open up different ways of thinking the world and existing in it - a prefigurative politics, a critique already filled with alternatives. Bisexuality doesn't make sense according to how the world currently works, but despite the world's hostility, it resists erasure and still refuses to fit - carving out an unclaimed place for something new. 

That being said, as one of our guests remarks: "It is beautiful philosophically, but practically - really annoying."
